The Killing Fields – Trump Style!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

I remember again and again the phrase “the horror, the horror” in Joseph Conrad’s book The Heart of Darkness … Is that heart or should it be plural – hearts – what now leads this nation … Is that who President Trump is and what the current GOP is all about? Evidence seems to indicate the answer is a definitive YES!

One might think the title I decided on for this essay – The Killing Fields – is a bit of hyperbole however there has now been Executive Orders by President Trump as well as Republican Congressional Bills and attempted rescission of other laws that in fact will destroy lives – possibly leading to death in more then a few cases. Not much better than actual ending of a life are those decisions that will so affect health, education, housing, environmental factors and employment protection that life quality and viable years will be destroyed for a great many citizens of the United States – even having international dire consequences in certain circumstances.

Women, the LGBT community, seniors, children, people suffering from both physical and mental health issues, those disenfranchised by poverty and disabilities, immigrants and anyone else with serious life challenges are all at risk from the ideas and plans that President Trump has begun to put into place since his January 2017 Inauguration. I find it difficult to create a hierarchy for concern – the troubling daily life situations along with the growing Constitutional crisis the Trump Administration has presented are mind boggling … None the less nothing can be set aside when contemplating the importance and real damage this Presidency and the GOP majority lead Congress brings to our nation. Are not the evisceration of the EPA, school lunch programs, educational initiatives, women’s reproductive rights, laws protecting minorities and members of the LGBT community all equally a matter of concern that there is a turning back of progress? Isn’t immigration policy based on religion, pretense that racism no longer necessitates civil rights laws reason to fear the lessening of that which differentiates our country from those where ideology rules? Obviously the answer to these questions is yes – now what to do about the Trump/GOP agenda becomes the important topic for discussion and issues demanding intelligent and diligent focus by those of us willing to honestly face the difficult task at hand – that being no less then the saving of democracy and the values we in 2017 who want decency and equality for all people hold dear!

Hackers, Bullies, Terrorist and Miscreants

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Until you [me] admit you are the same and no better than us … We will …”

— Michigan woman, about me,  on Facebook

SecurityThreatNorth Korea or someone decides we the people of The United States of America can not see a less than spectacular film “The Interview” … Worse is the company producing the film, Sony, had all its internal and sensitive business computers data hacked and emails shared – making work product basically impossible not to mention causing relationships to be strained. Why? Well blackmail was the basic reason behind this but of course pure and simple it was an attempt to control others – to dictate and direct by whomever thought their right to reign supreme over all they decided was distasteful. Do we or Sony capitulate, fight back or seek legal recourse? Sadly Sony caved in and then voices were heard including President Obama’s that said “No – not us – nor we a free people will allow such manipulation!” Finally as my husband, I and support team have done for five years in our determination to thwart the efforts of miscreant bullies, the public drew a proverbial line in the sand … The movie was released and just as I have experienced those not previously supportive became champions of the cause.

Bullies are terrorists and the next incident by ISIL and Al Qaeda related individuals resulted in murder. Paris France was the scene of twelve cartoonist and editors being gunned down in their offices because others thought that the only solution and punishment to be accorded for that which was found offensive. The slaughter continued in a Paris Kosher grocery store when hostages were killed within hours … We Jews all over the world felt deep horror and remembrances of that which has been our plight throughout history – murdered simply because of who we are. I was targeted by nemesis also simply because of who I am and who they wanted others to believe I was … Out envy, hate and their insecurity my personal antisemitic nemesis targeted me for the last five years with both the ridiculous and dangerous – even illegal activity in effort to malign and worse myself, husband and family. Did they threatened our life – answer is yes in many REAL ways.

On the business front the Morgan Stanley employee who recently stole and released clients information is similar to what a Michigan man and his wife who I never met and my husband has not seen nor spoken to in over twenty years did [along with stalking, threatening and harassing]. This couple who has been under investigation and we are close to filing long worked on lawsuits against laughingly took since disproved, erroneous and old no longer factual information to display on Facebook in effort to silence my husband and I as well as make it seem we were other than REALLY are …Interesting is that the State of Pennsylvania where my husband and I live has themselves joined in effort to prosecute the man involved as he either hacked or used their since changed information as if factual. When his IBM employer was notified of his activity and our concern he possibly made them liable via using work computers they agreed to full investigation and review of his not adhering to their company “social computing guidelines“. There is much more that relates to my own struggle and successes that are similar in effort to defeat and have legally punished those just like the company employees who believe releasing either valid or erroneous – not verified information is either their right or only means to make their otherwise marginalized existences more important. Fortunately my publisher has contracted yet another book singularly on this topic after Court cases complete. Suffice it to say – all experts involved including Court Psychologist advising us agree along with their own possible personality disorders my nemesis are as terrorist in that they want to control that which and who they envy and hate … Their self righteous pretense laid exposed by their own life narratives and actions.

The serendipitous wonderful and very interesting part of what my and my husband’s miscreant nemesis did was use either false, not verified, erroneous and since changed information against us … We even arranged through interested venues legal “gotcha Trojan Horses“.  Results were as expected – they and others who confessed were inspired by these people [which makes them accomplishes] thought as one consultant described their attempted “reign of terror” would defeat us and somehow give them power … Same as terrorist believe. Quite the opposite happened … While living full and productive lives my husband, I and supporters [some professional, others personal and even very unexpected individuals] made a studied, organized and determined plan to push back and win against these individuals … We have and are winning and I since have decided to make as one of my life works helping others with less resources and support also defend and defeat hackers, bullies, terrorist and miscreants.

I need to thank so many individuals but also Facebook, Twitter, Go Daddy, Sprint and even IBM for their effort and in some cases direct action in helping my husband, I and attorney in pursuing both justice and resolution … It was hard work on my and my husband and attorney’s part – many hours in addressing and professional efforts [tracing, subpoenas and more] but not only has it been and more soon beneficial to us personally – it will as well others as we move forward with books and both national and international plans to make it illegal and unprofitable for enemies of decency to succeed!

NOTE: Every single word above is documented and legally verified – including a detailed dated timeline as proof of who was attacked [us] and who was guilty party [our nemesis] … Threats and harassment and social media rants and posts by nemesis ALL saved and stored on over 50 disks – copies in hands of attorney and many with law enforcement [as well as my publisher]. Both disks and all related documents stored both on laptops and in secure storage unit where management/company well aware of threats referenced above … We pay for this as we fear fire or worse considering the three then teenage children [one now deceased] of my husband’s ex wife [divorced 1995] criminally vandalized our home 2003 … The continued REAL threats and law enforcement/psychologist advise makes us concerned not only for our family safety but these legally important documents being stolen or destroyed by known group referenced here. So as you my readers can clearly understand while persevering and succeeding against this evil group of individuals, both vigilance and extreme caution has and will be taken. Trust me – as will be made clear through press coverage of legal proceedings and my book – what I describe in this essay is mild and certainly far from the full depth and width of the attacks and criminal acts against myself, husband, family and even friends. The totality is frightening – lessons beyond ones normal comprehension and still that which we, you and the world MUST address as modernity allows more and more attacks through technology … A gift of progress used by those either unstable or just pure evil individuals in ways destructive. It is incumbent that we, the victims, not fear our own REAL life narrative nor exposing these enemies of humanity – rally as my husband and I decided and in doing so rise to hero status so that you and future generations can live without fear!

Reindeer and Feminism

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

TerezaHoliday2012Most years I have gift packages not only sent but readied for delivery during the holidays … Food types that include candy, nuts and such. Always ecumenical as being Jewish with Muslim, Catholic and other among my many family, friends and colleagues has me well versed in the sensitivity of December festivities. These are not gifts of the personal nature but instead that which one sends or takes along to places and people who are part of ones life in ways important considering tasks and routines … The hairdresser, doctors, cleaners, banks, offices, etc.. So each year my car or that of my driver is loaded with these prepared goodies bought at one of my favorite gift venues and there is always a roll of labels which I address at each stop according to the relationship … Appreciation, fondness and the like. I am actually quite proud of this now many, many years practice I believe I originated to a certain extent.

A stylist friend gifted me what I call my Louis Vuitton reindeer antlers because they are the same beige and light brown combined colors as that designer’s ionic logo luggage, pocketbooks, wallets, etc. that I have owned for years. This rather unique head decor includes a bit of white fur and a bell here and there as well. Being a very secure woman who enjoys frivolity I decided that at each stop during holiday season a few years ago to place this adornment on my always professionally coiffed hair – no shame in wanting to garner an affectionate holiday chuckle or two I am sure you agree.

A few years ago my wonderful estate attorney told me I needed to attend a bank meeting concerning a rather large sum that would be distributed to me in coming years via a planned inheritance by my late parents … As this was a late Friday afternoon meeting, unfortunately my estate attorney gal pal would be flying to a family event in Florida and she felt as I just gotten A+ in banking law there would be no problem in my going alone. In addition to law school classes, my husband and I were equal partners in a business we had recently begun and I had no discomfort handling such meetings. So off I went dressed in my now plentiful business attire. I knew that a wealth management bank official who I did hospice volunteer work with at one time would be there so along with the goodies holiday gift package described above, I brought along a small more personal present for my lovely acquaintance.

Out of my car on a cold December late Friday afternoon … Gathered my briefcase, the two gifts and decided what the hell – on goes the LV reindeer antlers. My hospice volunteer friend greets me with hugs and thanks for small holiday gift I brought her, I am ushered into a boardroom with a long oval well polished wood table around which are seated four men – bankers and officials. Handshakes finished I am shown to chair at head of table and my foodie gift gratefully accepted and placed in center of long table – I accept the coffee and offer to take my coat. So it is the meeting begins – there is the get to know me chat part and somehow it is mentioned that my husband is well known computer expert, we have started a company, I decided to finish law school, go through extreme fertility treatments to have children, I am a writer working on books to be published asap and hubby and I are a feminist couple – he having legally taken my last name. All there seem impressed and respectful of my place at the head of any table … However – here it comes my darling readers – at one point when I complained about length of time bank is projecting for distribution and brought up my knowledge of and concerns that the banking industry might find it beneficial to keep such a large sum to gain use of it a bit too long, the young man to my right chuckles that I do not have financial concerns because “after all you are married to a high income earner” and “therefore should not worry“. Well now needless to say or maybe I do need to describe that I turned to this young man, leaned over and shaking my index finger explained that under no circumstances was he or anyone else to take into consideration my marital status in relationship to my financial issues. At that very moment I heard my antler bells ringing and then sitting back asked why or when was anyone going to mention I had them on? Answer was pretty much they thought I knew and wanted to wear them during the meeting. Patronizing or just polite not important but there is a moral to this REAL life story … Especially for my women readers:

Ladies when you are at the head of the table and know what you are talking about – learn about and study the subject in advance – it does not matter what the hell you are wearing in the end!

P.S. At a recent similar meeting that I could not attend due to scheduling, my husband was asked if he was married to me … When he proudly said yes, the woman facilitating the issue at hand assured my hubby then there would be no problem as she knew me and trusted my judgement. So you see things are improving for women in many ways but ladies you have to insist on it – even when wearing reindeer antlers. Happy and Blessed Holidays  to everyone … Especially we feminists & those who love us, respect us & never care if we are wearing “reindeer antlers”!

Labor Day

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

LaborDay” …  Hungry people eating the stuff they raised, living in the houses they built, I’ll be there too …” says Henry Fonda near the end of the film Grapes of Wrath. On nearly every Labor Day growing up my late father and I read and discussed this iconic and historic book, as well as often watching the film together. I have written in other blog essays that I am the proud daughter of a successful business man who was also a union organizer – yes my dear readers, one can indeed be both.

The recent anti-union vitriol in this nation in nothing more than a political attempt to sway into action one group of Americans against another. The REAL and true economic fact is that organized labor has raised the standard of living for us all. History teaches well that companies responded to the pressing demands of unions even if not themselves involved. People seem to forget just how disposal workers were before employment laws began to be enforced. Injured at work meant goodbye to income and certainly no recourse to seek compensation for damages.

Yes I know that many of you truly believe that unions forced companies to close on account of costs and that your cost of living and purchases increased as well – this is pure nonsense I assure you. Simple truth is that REALLY healthy economies are a cycle of salary in, spending done and hence more jobs created. No matter labor, semi or professional status – if other folks do not have expendable and disposal incomes, then you will not have a position to receive yours either.

So do me a personal favor [you will thank me] my friends on this Labor Day – between the sale shopping, backyard barbecues, last beach visits – take some time to read Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath book and/or watch the old black and white film version. If you are lucky when I have you all over for a grand fête some day, you can hear me recite most of the very emotional ending soliloquy spoken by Henry Fonda, “  … wherever there is a hungry man, I will be there …”. Now go be a REAL American – support ALL our citizens in seeking security and good health and in doing so you will be reminded that we REALLY are our brothers and sisters keepers … so help me G-d!!!

P.S. In my first book, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and more complete tell ALL memoir, Life Journey of Heiress Mommy, many of the amazing REAL details concerning my late father’s business philosophy – including how his legacy has influenced myself and my dear husband in making recent decisions – will be shared. Until then, get to task and help make our beloved nation a place where ALL can prosper!!!

Is Quantitative Easing TOO Easy?

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

QEFools rush in, where wise men never go  ...” is not just a wonderfully romantic Frank Sinatra classic. No indeed, but it just might be the prefatory reasoning that the Federal Reserve uses in deciding not to  continue with QE in the fourth quarter. Are you wondering what exactly that term means? Break it down folks – they ease the quantity of available funds in our country by supplying more to banks and other financial lending institutions, while keeping inflation stable [not lowered] and as such not promoting over borrowing of easy money. Often misunderstood and frequently used as a political football, this economic tool has in fact helped rally the U.S. financial situation for some time now. Called both a tool of the rich in consideration of their ability to handle inflationary condition more readily than the middle class and equally suggested by others to be a socialist manifesto in the always present rant about governmental pejorative concerning involvement in private banks. The standard operating quandary these days is politicians piggy backing as a publicity stunt any suggestion by this Obama administration to do redirection of economic factors. Truth is not even members of Congress, let alone the general public, have full purview and comprehension of processes like QE, etc.. I say learn REAL facts or get out of the way because this nation is headed either to complete and long lasting stability or a forever more dissolution of a strong and vibrant fluid economy – one that works for most of our citizens and allows international involvement to be a REAL growth factor or an economy that marginalizes many and limits world participation.

In June of this year Federal Reserve Chairman Bernake promised to end Quantitative Easing in 2014 – why?  The REAL answer is nervousness that the proverbial “slippery slope” is just around the corner where our debt ceiling or the perceived debt ceiling will rise out of control by government over spending. I subscribe to the “you have to spend money to make money” theory – simple business structure explains that to produce goods or profit, one must invest. Well our government is investing in us – we the people get to use the eased funds for loans both private and commercial and the cycle continues in hiring, research and development, etc.. The bogey man debt ceiling mantra is destroying any ability for a REAL and reasonable consideration of what needs to be done to stabilize and grow the U.S. economy. Add to the vitriol and panic, the far too referenced situation in other countries like Greece where cradle to grave subsidies caused run away inflation – well now, warning, warning America! Nonsense I say – we are not any where near a socialist structure in this nation – there is a substantial tax base and if we invest to help create REAL living wage [not minimum] jobs more and more spending will be able to create a ongoing cyclic situation.

So in conclusion I ask my government to ease our path – do not fear and do not falter from the REAL task at hand and please do not fall victim to public opinion. These days the drum beat of social media and one note news outlets is deafening in relationship to REAL facts and REALLY necessitated actions. Just think how dire our situation will be America if the Feds do not stay involved – surely run amok privatization got us into this morass in the 2000’s and under President Obama so called government intervention saved our collective asses – auto industry for instance. Still caution needed and we the people need to get educated and be the ombudsman of sorts or at least start electing to Congress those REALLY interested in the sophisticated academics needed to run this place!

P.S. In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and more complete follow-up Life Journey of Heiress Mommy my life long – yes cradle on – reasons for caring about issues like the economy will be explained. Not too difficult to understand considering I was born and bred in a business family and my dear father hoped one of us would go to the Philadelphia located iconic Wharton School of Business – who knows maybe the grandchildren my husband and I provided will do just that!

Remembering the Dinner in Saint Petersburg with G20

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

20130908-071428.jpgThe historical surroundings appropriately magnificent for meeting of the most important economic world players – a palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia was the working dinner setting this week for the 2013 G20 summit. This gathering of nineteen nations and the European Union Finance Ministers, along with major international banking entities has in the past staved off world financial collapse, bullied up failing national economies and initiated programs designed to create development among impoverished countries. Sounds like all things money are to be the menu du jour most would agree but not quite in that these meetings often are used to bring to the fore other world issues. Oh my, what is one to do when the gathering of the most influential types is subjugated to current events like the Syrian crisis? Apparently the answer this year was push it aside or at the most give it a chat up until 2a.m. during the so called working dinner.

You have read my opinion here before concerning the “middle of middle” folks in America … Busied [probably as they should be and the others of us more involved are to some extent as well] with the mundane insular aspects of their lives being either too selfish, too preoccupied or just not intelligent enough to care about world economics. The REAL truth is most people – certainly most in the United States know nothing of the G20 and in fact, not even that this organization exist. Why does this matter you ask? Well honestly not all that much except the misinformation and reactionary response of the ignorant among us is becoming deafening and one might say even dangerous. In the previous paragraph I write with some disdain about our President bringing the Syrian crisis – a war and humanitarian morass – to a conference where world changing financial issues are to be the at the forefront. No fool President Obama or any other leader to know that over emphasis on current tragedies through news venues perks the senses of the masses. Simple sociological analysis proves no matter how remote and disconnected a subject matter to the task at hand, the very vitriolic nature of some issues will gain attention. Do I sound elitist? Maybe but more dismayed – shaking my head in a oh my fashion that the intelligentsia of the world allows such public fare to distract time, energy and resources from a matter of studied scholarship to the news at 6.

The G20 was designed to study and promote high level discussion of policy issues pertaining to international financial stability. Indeed a war torn Middle East – which obviously includes Syria – might be reason enough to include its situation as topic for discussion. Such periphery inclusion is still, in my opinion, a dilution to the issue of the global economy. My main concern and plea for those involved and those of us interested enough to care is a watchfulness that not allow the important venues of the world to fall victim to the common place. Syria is without question important and should be dealt with but like many other world crisis, it must not be allowed to be elevated and interfere with other and possibly more important global concerns.

P.S. In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and follow-up book, Life Journey of Heiress Mommy, much will be detailed about how I got to care about all things global will be shared … for now lets say it happened at my childhood dinners in Philadelphia!

Labor Day 2013

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Lucky Feminist Me !!!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

MRS_NWHMSomewhat difficult to determine all the reasons why – the blessing of good fortune, happenstance, circumstance, right place at right time or just possibly what I reap, I have sown scenario but the men in my life are feminist. Yes my darling readers either REAL feminist or at the very least respectful of my being one. Come to think of it, the men that I feel the most closeness to allow for the full scope of who I REALLY am – at times completely in charge, other moments very much in need of support, still others where – well not often – I throw myself into their arms [real and theoretically] for protection and directive oversight. Best of all worlds is what I seem to have. Asking why or how moi got so damn lucky? Hmm … probably a combination of there being no other option, a bit of plain old luck and putting out there that which I expect to get back.

Please do not think this post is going to be another blah, blah, blah tutorial others of my ilk often write in an effort to dictate the life plan of women and their guys – nope, it is my REAL and honest descriptive self analysis and a portion of my own  hopefully inspiring life story, along with what else is relevant in historical and current terms, that will somehow help the ladies and gents reading this get to that perfect balance where REAL respect is achieved. Here is an aside – both myself and my REALLY feminist husband, who if you read me regularly or know us personally, are aware legally took my last name and agreed to have our children do the same – are angry about the state of women here in the great U.S.A. and around the world. In her new novel The Woman Upstairs [a MUST read], Claire Messud writes about “the furies” – that being simply the furious tone we women should have concerning the still oppressive and often dismissive attitudes toward us despite education, earning capacity and such. Pissed off is what her main character is and hubby and I think most women should be – if not about ones own individual circumstance, then toward the other women less fortunate and certainly undeniably oppressed status to various degrees. We women are far too often the worst enemy of ourselves and others of our gender – less supportive of another woman is much too usual the posture seen in the work place, politics and community. Is it jealousy or fear? Not sure exactly but the lack of REAL connective and unified presentation against misogynistic attitudes is daunting to me. Of course, there are the absolutely amazing efforts by women to continue that which my beloved feminist Mother’s generation began … Still fighting to pass Equal Rights Amendment here in U.S.A., working for decent wages and health care here and around the world for women and girls, those striving to elect more American women to political office and even to get the National Women’s History Museum finally built in Washington D.C. – to name just a few of the ongoing and long sought after items involving women. Additionally, there are famous and well placed women attempting to enlighten and raise not only awareness but funds to help our gender – just this past weekend Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and other entertainers performed and sponsored the Chime for Change event in London to raise the consciousness of the world through song about justice, health and education for girls and women everywhere. All in all there is a REAL effort but we gals need more definitive action by everyone to get it right – to the place where gender REALLY does not matter any longer.

Being our own worst enemy surely applies to women’s current problems – if you want it all, then do it all – that is if like myself, fortune has smiled on you through education, etc.. There are our sisters with no REAL choice … place of birth and other factors rendering them incapable of having choices and so the rest of us must step up and do it – yes, make not only our circumstances and successes doable but be sure legislation here and government actions around the world insure the well being of all women. Dear G-d … when I hear women spout nonsensical things like “I am not a feminist – I love taking care of my husband and children” – well me too and he for I but that does not in any way excuse ignoring the REAL problems of women being denied choices in all areas of life and without any equivocation does not pass for reason to claim ignorance about the growing apparent recognition of things like sexual assaults in the United States military and more similar ongoing egregious actions against women. Listen folks, I bake, I love my family, I am a bit of a high maintenance Princess type but I also handle business and finance for my family and often friends, I am involved in politics, am a writer, athletic type and many more things but what I am not is foolish enough to allow society to define me – then why would I ever allow that to be the case for another women? I ask the ladies reading this to remember that all are affected by laws and tenor of community – her today babe, you and your daughter tomorrow in an oppressive world. To the guys reading this, my hubby is a REAL man who is not afraid to look after the homestead quite well, being a researcher and brilliant writer while doing so – and when someone offends or attacks his woman [me] he is a lion defender of his brood – no question about his manhood, trust me on that. What matter is it if man or woman does this or that task – we are each the better for the others accomplishment and only by working in unison will a family, community, country and the world get better, healthy and more equal for all!

P.S. In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life!  many details about my late Mother’s feminism will be shared – how she told me it began as her personal outlook on life, etc.. For now please take a look at the picture connected to this blog – it is a dedication that my husband and I are endowing for her at the National Women’s History Museum, which I hope you all will consider making at least a small contribution in honor of a woman you REALLY love and visiting once open.

Hedge Your Funds Baby!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

wall street blog babyCould it simply be a case of gestational status depreciation, an arbitrage suckling shrinkage scenario or short sell C-section causing the problems? Hmm, what you ask am I talking about now? Well my darling readers, nonsense is the REAL answer but apparently some males think those Wall Street financial world activities can not adequately occur when we females have children. Seriously weird for anyone to REALLY believe that is probably what you are thinking  … are you joking Tereza? No, I am afraid not because this past week Mr. Paul Tudor Jones, a  billionaire hedge funder, declared that once we women have babies that pretty much will end advancement in financial world careers on account of that natural life occurrence being  the causation for the lessening of ambitions. Now never mind the CEO/CFO females running major corporations who are Mothers – nope, damn the evidence to the contrary because Mr. Jones was not  using empirical facts but instead only his own personal antiquated misogynistic and dangerous precepts against my gender. Well – you just know I have a personal message for this schmuck – here goes:

Note to Mr. Jones … you can just go ‘whatever’ yourself because it is a REAL fact that I prevailed while gestating, mothering, etc. – in ALL areas, including financial and legal matters of great importance; grant it I have the most amazing men in my life as support (women too) but sweetheart [you don’t mind if I refer to you that way – right?] it was me putting my designer shoe attired feet, one in front of the other, to get things done. I would love to have you meet me in person to discuss this further – you Sir will recognize me because it is I, not you, that display REAL self confidence!!!”

Sincerely, Tereza Eliasz-Solomon

Ok- now that I have stated my REAL opinion – here are some REAL and salient facts, statistics and narratives about women in the financial industry. In 2009 the “Women of Wall Street” were added  to the American Finance Museum as an exhibit denoting those females of monumental importance. One of my and my late Mother’s favorite women in finance, included in this event and currently a very important presence at Goldman Sachs, is Abby Joseph Cohen – a wife and Mother herself. There are many females who control and design products that move and change the world economy – some have children and some don’t but why the hell any man would believe for a minute that giving birth – which female world leaders have done for centuries – would lessen our ambition is illogical and insulting at best. Every year Harvard University graduates women with MBA degrees and the iconic Wharton School of Business in my beloved hometown of Philadelphia likewise – there are other similar programs doing exactly the same across this nation and around the world. It is obvious that in just the act of graduating these women are therefore well versed in economics and finance … many already Mothers I am sure. Statistically it thus becomes an impossibility that child birth renders females less ambitious – simply on account of so many having completed scholarship and subsequent work product in that field while and after becoming Mothers.

I wonder if men like Jones actually believe that biology is destiny – is it the physical act of birthing being suggested as reasoning for us gals being thought then less capable? Surely men becoming parents equals they too having divided attentive energies as being a Father brings great responsibility and necessitated strength, fore thought and a directed consciousness that one could claim also lessens focus for work issues. Is it being suggested that the mere act of being a parent proves too divisive a chore to any longer address career responsibilities? Hence the very act of going from without child to parental status renders a professional less worthy in the opinion of hedge funder Jones and his like minded compatriots. Seems simple then – only childless forever folks need apply for the most powerful position in society … guffaw  and belly laughs insert here. See – it makes no REAL sense that giving birth, adopting or as I have been blessed with, being in a marriage where parenting is a REALLY equal full time position for myself and my husband, which creates a opportunity for both of us to be creative, successful and REALLY ambitious. No matter the structure of a women’s child bearing and raising situation, her employment should not be affected intrinsically or by others … yes ladies, we too need to not let being Moms get in the way of our work product – that is no more so than the Father of four children, Paul Tudor Jones, did with his!

P.S. In my REALLY soon tell ALL  memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! the REAL and quite amazing details of how I actually manged to, as the saying goes, have it all – or least attempt to -will be shared. Want you to know it takes hard work, some luck and a great deal of faith  – plus, having the REALLY greatest people surrounding you – to get to that place where it is all doable to at least some extent. For now, I want to thank ALL the supportive and REALLY secure men in my life … these great and talented men who never hesitate to help me be better and who, like my feminist husband – who legally took my last name and agreed to have our children do the same – are REALLY secure and strong enough to never be threatened by any woman’s success. In fact, the men in my life champion and promote my achievements and they are intuitive enough to realize we then can be each others REAL heroes. I love you guys and am eternally grateful for your presence in my life – you each “had me [impressed] at hello” !

Supermarket Magazine Analysis — Food For Thought !

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

food_for_thoughtI have a firm and absolute rule about the magazines in check out lines at Supermarkets – that is no one who shops for me [not family, friend or employee person] can relay tabloid information to me or in my company that was culled from a shopping excursion.  I do not read nor am I ever tempted by the salacious cheap offerings that one is forced to stare at while waiting to pay for purchases. Now I have a valid analysis of what type of clientele a certain or other market caters to according to check out material and of course, it is simple business structure that denotes such choices … you know how it goes – you stock what will sell. Still, I find it REALLY interesting that the food stuff, other products and magazines line up so nicely to express who shops where.

It is true – I admit it – there are areas of life where one could say I am a snob. By which I mean demanding of certain standards and quality. Nothing wrong with this in my opinion as it takes only an understanding and appreciation of things to gain such sensibilities. Obviously, funds are needed to acquire many of the things that are best made but here too a sense of REAL value must prevail. One of the struggling issues of our times – something our amazing First Lady Michelle Obama has addressed in her Let’s Move initiative – is that  poorer communities have no REAL access to organic and fresh food;  fast food being cheaper and more readily available to fill a family’s caloric requirements than fresh produce and healthy protein items has left our society overweight and in poor health.

Seems simple and apparent to me through the evidence that our society is being further segregated through the Supermarket offerings of food, other products and yes magazine offerings at the checkout. Without a doubt the well heeled among us always had opportunities for finer dining experiences and such – the difference is others could still eat healthy and with a little effort read that which their wealthier and more educated brethren were privy to on a daily basis. I love capitalism but the the base profit margin standard is enforcing a no holding back attitude as to what and where offerings of products and information are made available … want to be offended, well may I suggest that some corporate office type is even as you read this discussing how “those people” will only buy such  and such, so why bother stocking the better of what we make or sell in their neighborhood. Now a truism is REAL that some self motivation to read better material, eat healthier food and such is at play here – however, not everyone has the impetus or where for all to step away from the easy into the more beneficial options. Is not the goal of a great nation like America to lift the masses through equality – does not this include informing and allowing purview to greater things? Whose responsibility is creating such a Utopia? I think the answer is elected officials in part and also the companies – including and maybe especially news outlets – to prod, instruct, inspire and direct ALL toward betterment.

All right now – back to the magazines. In the better markets, like my beloved Whole Foods and other like minded stores there are Bon Appetit, Architectural Digest, Yoga this and that, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Fortune, Forbes and a plethora of local upscale ___ Today – depending on the best close by neighborhoods. Why even the better newspapers are frequently sold – my favorite New York Times and Wall Street Journal for instance. Conversely at the less quality oriented markets, one finds tabloids galore – The Sun, The Enquirer, Star and occasionally People or US. Now you tell me – is this not simple Finance 101 in that they sell what will sell to who they think buys in their place of business … again I say nothing wrong with that, except the resulting delineation and further class alienation among our citizenry. My very well read and erudite parents often bemoaned this scenario – they explained that at one time the cab driver and the doctor or lawyer in a town read pretty much the same newspaper, heard on radio or saw on television almost the exact same reports and sure the better educated and motivated family – like my own – made it a must to read and hear/view beyond the standard venues. Yet all were given opportunity to know the same REAL facts and as such, their children too. Sadly, not the current societal norm – we are divided into not only the income haves and have-nots but the nutritional and intellectual advantaged and disadvantaged. Troublesome and dangerous I tell you – this has and will further lead to eventual irreparable divisions in this country and throughout the world. The one bright light – although it too seems to be more and more divided – is social media. My prayer and REAL hope is that Facebook and Twitter, et al. will force a communal sharing of the better for ALL!

P.S. In my year (2013) end memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! I will share the REAL plan that my husband and I are working on to purchase his beloved paternal grandmother, Walerya’s, Michigan farm and turn it into a cooperative community food center and agricultural/nutrition teaching venue for inner city Detroit and other local youths and their families … this will be one part of our soon to be established Eliasz-Solomon Family Foundation.
