Cults, Putin, ISIL and False Idol Worship!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

The trifecta of delusion one might say: Cult tutorials, faux poseur pretense, needy affirmation slogans often displayed on social media clipart … All or one surely known to all. Troublesome, ridiculous and possibly pathological by definition no matter as these types of individuals throughout history often dangerous and at the very least detracting from the reality of their circumstances hence determined to cause harms to others. This is my studied summarial analysis of why no less than a concentrated effort to defeat cults, Putin and ISIL – all who profess and seek to control others through any sort of false idol worship – idolatry – must be given international focus. Details needed? Easy …

FalseIdol

A few years ago it became necessary for me to investigate an organization that media, some law enforcement agencies and courts, as well as others had determined was a cult for all intent and purposes; Albeit a clever one in that unlike others it allowed – make that wanted most of its members to stay productive in their “regular” lives and careers – after all  that was a means of income for this group. Grant it some adherents became “ministers” and full time employees … There were and are fake degrees distributed and worse. When I spoke to the LA. Times, Los Angeles Court and even People Magazine [more about that in my previous essay 16 August 2013, on this topic] I was appalled and shocked at what I learned. The information I received myself from this group during phone chats and later in the mail further convinced me and since on social media even more that all the markings of a cult were present despite the especially recent attempts to appear merely a spiritual advisory institution. Dangerous? Well yes if the articles about its founder’s own words and activities are to be believed – he now being deceased can never be brought to task through the legal system. Why do I bring this to light in reference to Putin and ISIL you are probably asking? Simple REALLY – it is the often favored law school 101 “slippery slope” toward disastrous activity that damns not only the groups members but all who oppose any of these false idol worship manifestations.

Here is the thing dear readers – I and more than a few attorneys – even one or two Judges and others guffawed when reading about the above cult I reference. We watch their so called “motion picture” with mouths gaped, heads shaking and giggles. However all knowing the gravity of these accusations and documented facts also took very seriously the truth of what organizations like this represent. Seems this particular group now attempts at least [especially since its worshipped founder died] to appear more benign – as if nothing more than all the other “pyramid schemed” fake schools, life coaches, classes in bizarrely titled subject, etc.. How wasteful the time and energy, how vulgar and even dangerous their subterfuge and insulting the simplicity of the message guised as REAL philosophy are these faux quasi religious organizations. Indeed their tutorials and life coaching – their social media faux philosophy cliche clipart designed to ensnare the weak minded and those themselves guilty of less than decent existences. Why should anyone care? It is because both the leaders and followers often use such for promoting and protecting that at best ridiculous and more serious by definition that which frequently certain individuals are determined to use as means of others destruction. So you see that cults, ISIL and regimes like Putin’s Russia are the same in the most basic and troubling ways.

I am sadly all too personally familiar with those who are in one or another form and manner adherents of what can be considered the worshipping of a “false idol“. Those of you around the world who have become my regular readers and those who know me personally are by now quite aware of not only the cult members my husband and I have had to deal with but similarly others worshipping delusional facts and premises that have rendered them at best loathsome creatures to be avoided at all costs and worse dangerous predatory bullies. Any group that promotes a us no matter right or wrong philosophy is indeed dangerous … Never any room for nuances or considerations of the realities of others these propagate through self delusion and professed ideas that which allows them to lie to themselves and attempt to convince others of the same. Putin, ISIL and cults all use the same techniques  of convincing the weak minded the faux philosophies they champion make them right and the rest of the world wrong. Modernity has allowed similar for the masses through cliche clipart sought to convince themselves mostly they are much more than reality informs and they in a simple minded and oft times derogatory fashion have the REAL answers – all delusionary of course.

It is incumbent on those of us willing to be forthright about our own lives but to also be determined and vigilant to never accept lies or misrepresentations about us or others to fight against these perpetrators of evil myths. Why so important you are thinking? The reason is easy for if you look around the world and even your own life there are these promoters of self ingratiating delusion that attempt to elevate themselves at the cost of others they fear, envy and hate. No matter if the gain a nation, a  religion or personal these people will destroy others both directly and in more subtle fashion if not challenged. Trust me on this my dear readers … And stay tuned!

Remembering: Abraham Marches on D.C. !

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

50thAnnMarch

Wake up Dear – father needs to speak with you“,  was how I was awoken in the dark to see my father, Abraham H. Solomon, sitting on the side chair near my bed late  August 1963. Fifty years ago this month my civil rights activist father wanted me to know that he was leaving our Philadelphia home to join Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.   for the 1963 March on Washington D.C. .  Being very close to my father,  I asked if I could come along and became concerned when the response was ‘no’  as father felt these were troubling times and he could not assure my safety. We shared a prayer and bid farewell – even at nine I knew my father needed to leave to pursue with others justice for those suffering and I was proud.

Well now, that day was not REALLY unique in the Solomon household – father having gone to other such demonstrations, etc. .  Often the infamous and famous sat at our dinner table in deep and serious discussion concerning important national and international topics relevant to the day”s news – frequently involving the pressing civil rights of this nation”s minority community. As a Jewish American family there was always the imperative impetus to further rights of other minorities and those oppressed. My Father always walked the walk so to speak – Abraham H. Solomon supported the  NAACP,   Voting Rights Act of 1965  and more. His legacy leaves we his family proud and enlightened … each of us continually striving to be just a small fraction of the great, moral and decent REAL man he was.

When I campaigned for Barack Obama the first [and second] time I knew and others close to me realized that I felt it my duty to fulfill my father”s REAL destiny by seeing an African American reach the highest office in this land. Actually, my husband shared that many of our dear family, friends and colleagues told him they fretted over my feelings should we have lost the 2008 Presidential election. Yes that is how deeply I felt communication with and responsibility to my late father – knowing this was REALLY the right thing for America.

Free at last, free at last, thank G-d almighty …

— I Have A Dream Speech

Those words are not yet a fully realized ideal,  but that iconic historic speech is finally becoming a truly achievable possibility – this I promise my father, Abraham who is still dearly loved and always missed by many. I must conclude today, as each, on Father’s Day 2016 that I know my Father is honored by my amazing husband Chester M. Eliasz-Solomon in his choosing to legally take our family last name and as such assuring an even greater legacy for generations to come!!!

How Memorial Day Was Created (2014)

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

blacksoldierscivilwarFreedmen that were African slaves become gladdened by the prospect of Lincoln’s vision for life in America and so decided to commemorate their Civil War fallen comrades in Charleston, South Carolina on 1 May 1865. Calling this day of remembrance a May Day celebration and marking it with flowers and song – cleaning up unmarked graves – telling America that freedom had come from this second revolution of sorts all lent idea to what we now acknowledge as Memorial Day. Societies have been commemorating war dead throughout recorded history – my own Jewish faith deems necessary remembrances as a way to define who we are and to give eternal life of sorts to those gone. Not to be confused with morbid nor sullen grieving, the memorializing of brave citizens who gave the ultimate sacrifice for an ideal is seen as both honor and lesson for that nation they died to save. Such service to ones community remains unequal in valor, which is why days of recognition abound around the globe.

There is surely a need for continuity that promotes year after year efforts as we attend to the memories of those lost in battle – who we were, are and will be as a people made clear in some way through this activity. Of course, for the immediate family and friends that a soldier left behind this shows a much desired communal recognition that appreciation and value is denoted for that loss. Years pass – generation after generation attempt awareness of history and so until this day, each and every service person’s death throughout the history of the United States is included in Memorial Day ceremonies. Pride is foremost and a knowing that duty was served even in controversial battles like Vietnam – for those we ask to fight are not to be ever sullied by the politicians or leaders choices. Without question many have been too easily forgotten and marginalized – I began this post with mention of the African-American slave who fought beside others in our nation’s Civil War. There is no question that it took many more years – even post WWII for these REAL Americans to be treated with full and equal honor for their heroism in battle.

For myself and all Jewish families those that fought in World War II are especially close to our hearts for there is no confusion that we would not exist had those heroes not fought to keep safe the world from Nazi destruction. There is no hyperbole in my stating that humanity only survived because Americans and our European allies destroyed the enemies of G-d during the 1940’s. Tears come easily to me when thinking about those killed while fighting against Germany in order to prevent the world and my people from ultimate annihilation  Every time I meet a family that lost a fighting soldier in WWII or a veteran I tell them of my REAL gratitude, shake their hand, request an embrace and express my REAL belief that I owe them my life. Not all wars are as honorable in purpose as WWII and not all the resulting scenarios as glorious in tone but most are at least for America purposeful and with decency at the core; mistakes and miscalculations have and will happen as long as people fight but we must learn and attempt betterment if REAL gratitude is to be expressed for those we remember on Memorial Day and so that they shall rest in eternal peace!

Note: I want to make mention of my pride that my first father-in-law [widowed 2001] was a decorated WWII Air Force Colonel, Oxford & George Washington University Professor, Hall of Fame Senior Tennis Player & so much more … now laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. Also there interred is my paternal Uncle Milton Solomon, a decorated Army Officer & later International Business Entrepreneur. While of different faiths, these two wonderful men not only share being an important part of my family history but in common this great nation and its gloried history of the struggle for REAL freedom throughout the world. Amen I say!!!

Carve the Turkey and Spin the Dreidel

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

I have a little dreidel. I made it out of clay.
When it’s dry and ready, then dreidel I shall play.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made it out of clay.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, then dreidel I shall play.

Thanksgiving2013This long loved Jewish childhood song goes on … the REAL joy is in the sharing of fun and truth about our people’s long history of survival and perseverance. Even Hanukkah – without a doubt a less, shall we say, serious Jewish holiday than Passover and Yom Kippur is based on yet another miracle. We are a people whose very existence defines the term miracles – so many have sought our demise and yet we thrive and are present in every nation. No matter the reason – miracle, fortitude or luck – the glory in our story is one for all peoples and that is, with faith and determination, you shall be free. Sounds like the American story as well – and here we find Hanukkah 5774 and Thanksgiving 2013 on the same day. Of course, we get eight days but still this happenstance is worth consideration for is not freedom a universal desire and are not we Jews setting out over and over again for new lands that which the Pilgrims also did?

Surely the admittance of REAL facts concerning the Native Americans and the first Thanksgiving in America must be acknowledged here – are the grade school learned tales of friendship and closeness between Pilgrims and often termed Indians true or convenient fiction? The truth is ninety Native Americans and fifty-three Pilgrims sat down to the first three day harvest celebration in America – without question there was indeed a coming together in friendship but additionally there is no doubt that the entirety of our origins is replete with horrors against the Native people. Still there is no equivocation that when President Abraham Lincoln in 1863 declared this a Federal Holiday, the divine tone of the great American experiment was something to be celebrated.

So this year we Americans Jew are especially made grateful in remembering both our own miracle of Hanukkah and the miracle of a great nation like America … each a beacon to the world of REAL possibilities. For is not one example of perseverance, glory and victory example and template for all others who struggle against REAL tyranny? Each year many in the Jewish community choose a larger task [for those of our faith and all others] to address during Hanukkah – for me it is Light Up Literacy for Hanukkah. No matter which, the decision to use our miracles to create a better life for those Jewish and not defines the tonality of what a holiday of gratitude should be – both Thanksgiving and Hanukkah reasons to spread across the world a message of hopefulness and resolve that REALLY miraculous occurrences are the result of determination and G-d’s blessings!

P.S. In my year end (2013) memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and recently decided Summer 2014 Life Journey of Heiress Mommy! the details of how my life has been full of REAL miracles will be shared, as well as a little something about my dear clever late Mother’s “orphan Thanksgiving” and how my husband and I plan to continue this tradition once living in our new “main”  home [hint – more soon]. What is this holiday fete? Well it is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and all are invited – those who were at a place they had rather not be or no where invited or working, etc. on the traditional Turkey day. Ours will be a grand event – full of gaiety and joy to be shared by all the REALLY amazing family, friends, colleagues and neighbors that the Eliasz-Solomon family is blessed with … details and photos will be shared!!!

There will be more about that in my soon memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and even further detailed in the the follow up, Life Journey of Heiress Mommy! Another important topic in my two books will be why [only] one reason my wonderful husband decided to legally take my last name and agree our children do the same was his being REALLY impressed by my parents and honored to carry their name forever – trust me, they are equally proud to have him and our children be Solomons !

Running For Roses

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Kentucky derby blog 2013On Saturday, 4 May 2013, the running of the 139th Kentucky Derby takes place.  It has a unique unbroken, continually occurring, without pause place in history since 1875. This iconic REAL American event denotes a flavored venue known around the world. Yes the magnificence of horses being bred, raised and raced to glory is the main spectacle at hand but equal is the social and style aspects surrounding this annual event. There are hats and parties galore but there is REAL history to be understood and admired. Not many know that this sports event was birthed by the idea of Colonel Meriwether Lewis Clark,Jr., grandson  of Lewis & Clark expedition fame. This offspring of the hero explorer having been exposed to the beauty of such races in Europe returned to Kentucky to forge our own U.,S.A. quality and world admiring worthy club organization that produced the Derby. Born and bred on American soil is this often called “the fastest two minutes in Sports“. Some might think it frivolous to attend or watch with rapt attention a horse race when so many serious and pressing problems face humanity. I say not at all – for is not the defining of a culture that which lifts us to be better and accomplished? There is more here to consider … so go fetch your mint julep and indulge me by reading my viewpoint on why we as a people REALLY need to embrace a “running for the roses“.

The history of the Kentucky Derby mirrors in many ways the trajectory of this nation … prosperous at times and other years resigned to the limitations of financial downturns, wars and other current events. Still like the country it resides in, this race persevered in spite of the odds. The American dream at play is obvious here – fortunes gained and lost in a flash, attitude of overcoming and achieving in the face of adversity and REAL true grit that makes day after day of hard work acceptable is evident at Churchill Downs. There are owners wealthy and others who took a chance on an otherwise dismissed horse. Jockeys famous and those who are novices or even considered no longer REAL talent have all rallied to win. Surprises abound – sure bets failed, while the never going to win choices go onto come in big time. No question that lives are altered forever when the finish line is crossed at the Derby and this is both the lure and definition of gravitas. Taking chances to win it all or come back to try another day is so REALLY American and definitely horse racing mantra.

Of course, being a feminist I am thrilled when a filly is in the race and particularly pleased when the rare female jockey leaves the gate riding toward that rose necklace. See my dear readers – even here gender matters. The excitement and the pathos all combine to make Kentucky Derby time a REALLY inclusive happening. Yes there are the good seats, called “Millionaire’s Row” where the well heeled get to pay much and watch in grand surrounding. All dressed in couture with the most lavish hats. Yet all there – no matter status feel welcomed and worthy of attending. Democratic for sure is the tone of sports in America … no different at the Derby. In my year end (2013) memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life!, along with other “so glad I got to go” life events, will be details of my twice attending the Derby, plus my plan to return in the next few years with children and hubby happily along. Who knows – maybe there will even be an Heiress Mommy filly running for the roses too!

No G-d Bombs!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Bomb blog postOh my G-d …what was that … run, run, run!!!” is some of what people shout as bombs explode as they are targeted by g-dless thugs. Last week it was the Boston Marathon which prompted my writing a post on 16 April 2013, Stealing Freedom! Prior to this here in the U.S. it was NYC 9/11 and before that Oklahoma City in the 1990’s; abroad it has been London, MadridParisIreland, Bosnia and many Middle East and African countries who experience the same horror of being targeted for nothing more than their existence. Constant vigilance is mandated in my ancestral homeland of Israel – there is an awareness that any time of any day a REAL evil doer will take ones life by placing a bomb on a bus, in a building or street corner. Presently the world seems to be little interested in stopping this in Syria – while lip service, threats to the controlling Assad Regime who blames “insidious Western influences” and some small intervention has occurred, no REAL and sustained effort to save Syria from total destruction is taking place. I focus on this particular civil war torn nation – not because theirs is any more egregious in circumstance than others nor because it is just the most current in an all too long list of similar scenarios – the reason I highlight Syria is on account of the poignancy of the sign you see here. When I came across this photo and accompanying text, the words – the plea reminded me of how many times I myself argued over the years that we all must pay head to even those we oppose as they are subjugated to the REALLY g-dless thieves of humanity. Sadly, I have been proven correct in thinking “them today, possibly us tomorrow” and why not as it is a complete lie and misrepresentation that a any religious belief actually promotes a person placing a bomb in order to kill and mane innocent persons. Atheist, agnostic or believer surely agrees that it is 100% a usury protestation by the most evil among us to profess religiosity as reason for such crimes.

War is a two sided occurrence and while yes often disproportionate in framework as one combatant is much more prepared/well equipped than the other, still the exchange is a knowingly reciprocation. Not so with terrorism – those incidents are exactly as the categorization states – pure terror propagated by one person or group against another real or perceived enemy. Never to be tolerated no matter which side of the supposed argument you favor – never because there is no REAL logic and definitely no “G-d and angels are on our side” acceptable reasoning. I am no passivity devotee my dear readers – not in the least way and as such I am a logical and strong willed person who accepts fully the sad fact that armed engagement must often be the means to survival for a people or nation. I even accept the at time targeted demise of leaders, groups and individuals hell bent on annihilation of others. What is never ever acceptable is random and self righteous targeting of communities to demonstrate some faux religious or nationalistic fervor. Why even a one time legitimate government like Syria’s now having its regulation armed forces bomb bakeries so that terror in the form of its citizens not being able to venture out for food poses the undeniable question as to what is the REAL motive at play in this battle? Terrorism for terrorizing sake finds no logic nor excuse in form or action – once the purpose becomes apparently creating an atmosphere of terror is made clear, all other realistic arguments are negated.

Listen folks – I am not shy about admitting that I am an Old Testament/Bible “eye for an eye” tough proactive, protect my rights at all costs type of broad. I nor my equally strong willed husband do not “suffer fools gladly“. But neither of us see this REAL determination to protect ourselves, REAL family, friends and community as a purview into some false idea that we above all others have the right to exist. Our ideal is that we let live, if you let us live … law enforcement, lawsuits and REAL truth is our defense mode – yes it is true that we have decided that full time REAL security is needed in our private and professional life on account of the often referenced in my writing The Miscreants™. Our plan and our recent years actions have been responsive and now proactive but NEVER predatory [even though that was what was done to us]. I bring my story into this post on account of wanting to show REAL connection and understanding to those who might feel the means to their own freedom is to destroy others – at times that might seem to be the only option but destruction of the enemy by path of REAL justice is the only route to the sought realized status all should seek. I am a religious person and my husband equal – my self Jewish, with maternal Muslim ancestral background and my husband a Catholic but neither of us thinks G-d wants us to target those other than the REAL enemies at our gate. Even with all our nemesis are REALLY guilty of – my husband and I have been extremely careful to have our attorneys, investigators and law enforcement pursue the exact individuals involved and not [some also loathsome] peripheral characters. You think me stretching to make the personal more globally relevant … I tell you not at all because my life story is a parallel tale to what some reason as the impetus to do harm. Let me assure you, as my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! will fully detail, my husband and I rest REALLY well at night as we know G-d has been pleased that no self righteous attitude informed us in his name to defeat our enemies. There is no religious tenets that instruct terrorism as a route to glory … the Boston Marathon crime was no more a Islamist problem, than Oklahoma city bombing was Christian and we must also note that those who kill and mane at clinics that provide pregnancy termination services in the name of their Christ are using G-dless Bombs too!!!

Israel @65

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Israel_65A celebration of the birthing a nation – modern day Israel is celebrating 65 miraculous, amazing and gloried years. 2013 or 5773 (Hebrew) denotes a prospering and ever more world important Middle East country … no longer simply the homeland of my Jewish people, Israel is a tech center, arts venue, education mecca and vacation destination for all people. All who visit come away astonished at the level of sophistication that Israel presents – magnificent is the only apt description of this tiny and strong willed country. No one should think it naive when I state Israel strong now and forever … it is determined by G-d and assured by men and women who will not let Israel go asunder – we, the Jewish people of this world and those who support us will NEVER let Israel vanish from this world. You must visit – you too – no matter faith or national origin, will come way awe struck and in love with my proud ancestral homeland.

Without the obvious considerations – the facts of Israel being the homeland for my religion and ancestral heritage of Judaism – one must marvel at the social and economic growth of this REAL democracy during its short 65 year existence. Israel is not singularly a place for nor of one particular culture – yes, it is our Jewish homeland but many faiths, ethnicity and national origin people live and prosper there. Israel is a true international place … the business and financial aspects are multi national and welcoming. Scientific research, technological development  and academic scholarship nearly unprecedented. Education always foremost in Jewish life, is a mainstay of everyday life in Israel … no matter the surrounding stresses, the population adheres to high education standards and this, along with research and development in areas of science has produced unequaled major medical and world changing/life saving break through treatments. Stunning is the only superlative that correctly denotes the absolute abundance of progress in this small and most days besieged nation – where else and when else in history has such evidence of G-d’s REAL blessings been demonstrated. A miracle?  – perhaps but also a fierce and directed sense of righteous  placement and intrinsic knowing that this is as it should be allows for such accomplishments.

I love the idea of eclecticism – many of my blog posts have referenced my own family and individual life as being just that. Not surprising to me that Israel is that too – a multiple faceted and many disciplined nation. Art, fashion, science, technology, ecology, education, medicine,  religion,  travel,  music,  agriculture,  food,  entertainment,  textiles, architecture,  politics,  charity,  international involvement,   etc.,  etc.,  etc.  –  exhausting and dizzying but REAL and true as a description of all Israel does and offers. I am aware of sounding prideful – why not I ask – for is not this a place to boast of? The issue more important to discuss is why all REALLY good people do not see this as a blessed template from which all nations can learn – glean lessons? Israel should be studied and mimicked – for if we/they can survive and rally to such accomplished heights despite surrounded by sworn enemies, then why not others? Herein lies one of my constant refrains – if you read me regularly or know me personally, then you are aware of my personal gloried story of rallying and overcoming much – my thwarting of naysayers and defeating of nemesis only to REALLY have it all. Yet I, as Israel, remain vigilant and humble – always acknowledging those that assisted and made possible achievements from which I benefit greatly. Israel owes great debt to the United States but it is a mutually benefactor relationship and no one need think that anything less than synopsis between the two rules the day.

In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! I will share some of my 14 trips to Israel details – my plans to have a property there some day and why I was born on account of Israel being too. For now I say, HAPPY & BLESSED Birthday Israel … I REALLY LOVE YOU!!!

My REAL Thomas Jefferson Crush!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

JeffersonI have many passions but do not have many obsessions – my husband, Chester M. Eliasz-Solomon, is my main “can NOT ever live without addiction“. Which by the way, he insists I never get over. However, for a decade or two – beginning in the 1980’s, I had a big time fascination for – one could almost say “crush” on our Third U.S. President, Thomas Jefferson. What’s not to like? The man was handsome, erudite, successful and powerful – why surely all the qualities us gals look for in a mate. Thomas Jefferson was born 13 April 1743 – as we approach the anniversary of his birth, I want to reflect on why he is still such an attractive man – to me personally, as well as in reference to this great nation that he help form. We hear much about our Founders “original intent” concerning the U.S. Constitution but how do we REALLY know the internal melange of these men? Personal life is so much a definitive corridor to that which anyone holds dear and true – so is not that also a factor in knowing what Jefferson and his fellows meant as a template for America? I believe it is … so here is my own take away from the years that  I spent fawning over, reading about, visiting his dwelled in places both here and aboard that define Thomas Jefferson.

One of the most important facts I learned about Jefferson was his rejection of any doxology – he was nearly an agnostic. I know that the extremist on the religious right of our America demographic are constantly attempting to impute a Christian adherence for the men who designed and established this country. However it is simply not the REAL fact – in my home library there is a copy of The Jefferson Bible, subtitled “The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth”, written by Thomas Jefferson  – which he began in the White House 1804 and completed 1819. You are probably thinking that such an effort REALLY does denote a religiosity – however it is nearly opposite in tonality. Jefferson saw Jesus as a story of absolute love and service, instead of believing in the miracle of the Annunciation. The President’s redactions of the Gospels is stunning – one must keep in mind what REAL audacity this man must have had to even contemplate taking a razor in hand as he literally cut and pasted as an editing devise that which he found disingenuous in the bible’s text. Without question the fact that Jefferson was a rationalistic fellow allowed him an almost dispassionate analysis of the New Testament. No one need be offended nor think me insulting of the Christian faith … in fact through Jefferson, a Jew like myself finds pleasant comfort in knowing the REALLY humanist attitude and ideals of that faith is how our third President informed his life and leadership decisions.

I am a “head over heels” in love with bookish men like my husband – show me your library Sir and I am yours. Bigger really does matter with a man’s book collection – hubby and I decided from first year of marriage that any home we owned would have a library as a primary room. So no surprise that my admiration for Thomas Jefferson is furthered in depth by his near compulsion to read, own and promote books – volumes and volumes of the written word were his constant refuge and life long companions. This great American bibliophile amassed through collecting thousands of books for his home library at Monticello in Virginia  – I have visited there more than once and felt entranced by volumes still present and the curatorial efforts ongoing as they best believe Jefferson would have wanted. Being a polymath allowed this lawyer and scholar purview into classics and literature from many cultures and origins of translations – knowledgeable of many languages gave our American Jefferson both insight and lessons from other times and lands. In my heart – after much study and concentration – I REALLY believe Thomas Jefferson hoped for a literate American citizenry – schooled and guided by a multiple of disciplines. Our third President would most definitely be outraged and distressed by the anti-scientific “Tea Party” rhetoric of late – shameful to a man of letters like himself and tragic in his mind as a contemplation of his well designed ideals for this new country whose very format he helped design. Our National Library of Congress was established by Thomas Jefferson – it is his own personal book collection that ceded this amazing cultural institution, that we are all still benefactors of today.

My husband and I have been waiting – somewhat impatiently – for our children to be of an age where they will fully enjoy our long planned trip following the Lewis & Clark Expedition. This event that changed forever the United States geography was decided on by President Jefferson – hence we have the western part of our vast country. Jefferson made the Louisiana Purchase  in 1803 – a territory from France and then sent the explorers further on to seek and find what we now know as our diverse and multiple geographic splendorous nation. A visionary can easily describe this energetic man – probably without many equal in kind, Thomas Jefferson designed, morphed and plotted the United States of America – knowingly and at times happenstance but either way a REAL gloried legacy to be sure.

Eclectic well described Thomas Jefferson – I am grateful that my own parents believed and taught us/their children and grandchildren and I now my own children that being versatile – many faceted in ones life is a route to REAL happiness. Renaissance man for certain is the often invoked verbiage when scholars describe Jefferson … statesman, lawyer, inventor, gardener, writer, devoted husband and father and so much more. Yes we all are aware of his now well documented romance and resulting off spring with Sally Hemmings – what to make of it I am not sure and yet I am prayerful – at least wanting of it having been REAL affection at play between those two people. Of course, as myself being the daughter of a civil rights activist I remain concerned – almost daunted by the controversy of whether or not our third President was REALLY committed to ending the horrid institution of slavery in the then new nation. Now here, as I admit early on in this post as being a bit of a T.J. “groupie“, I have to confess to anxiously waiting for and viewing more than once the 1995 film starring Nick Nolte, Jefferson in Paris with Hemmings by his side. Then I insisted on seeing places where Jefferson visited while in France – I have traveled to that country quite a few times before and since my T.J. tour obsession but still think of his times there as I stroll the streets of Paris until this day.

So as we celebrate the 270 year anniversary of Thomas Jefferson’s birth – I invoke Marilyn Monroe to J.F.K., as I sing to the heavens “Happy Birthday Mr. President!” and say thank you, thank you, thank you. In my year end (2013) memoir, “Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life!” all my “crushes” – my cerebral REAL life devotions will be fully explained and detailed; until then go visit Jefferson’s Monticello home in Virginia or D.C. Library of Congress this Summer 2013 and remember to say that you too are grateful that G-d placed a man like Thomas Jefferson on this Earth, at the time when the world so needed a new form of government, founded in The United States of America!!!

Holocaust Remembrance Days

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

MARTIN NIEMÖLLER

Born post Holocaust – in the 1950’s meant for me and other Jewish children an almost etched in DNA early knowledge of the Holocaust. Parents and teachers anxiously compelled to both inform and protect our youthful minds. No escaping the REAL facts that just a few years before our births there were those determined to annihilate our kind. So even today – as a Mother, Aunt and a friend to others children, I ask “What do we tell them and when?” Jew and gentile alike are to be informed, warned and learned in the scholarship of this singular horror because to forget or ignore is to allow a repeat of such despicable actions amongst our fellow human beings. Surely without comparison but not without similar occurrences, THE Holocaust has been morphed into other tragedies for other peoples and this must not be left unpressed by those of us able and willing to act in defense of those suffering. As we begin Yom Hashoah on 7 April – 8 April 2013 [27th of Nissan in my Hebrew calendar] which began in 1953 as an observance in memory of those perished, I ask you to read my words, feel the pain and pledge that no people shall suffer the same!

In the Jewish faith, life is valued above all else … no false idolatry of the dead is allowed and yet we honor and give eternal life through remembrances of those passed. Our Judaism informs and directs on all matters concerning life, death and mourning. Each year on the anniversary of a death, our loved ones light a Yahrzeit candle – which means a “soul candle“. I do this for many – grandparents, parents, my deceased brother, Albert and first husband, David who converted to Judaism in order for us to marry. Others are there too – Aunts, Uncles, cousins  and friends – all gone but never forgotten. Generation after generation through our Jewish ritual of naming children for those deceased and annual ritual remembrances, those gone before remain present in our life. A legacy to be boldly proud of and life stories to never be forgotten – this my dear readers is the way to defeat the haters – the Nazis who thought they could destroy our people. Each Jewish child born is a “slap” in the faces of our enemies. We are and will be here – triumphant despite the sorrows!

My own parents – especially my father, Abraham, explained that having already feared for my two brothers born at the start of Shoah in America still would having been born Jewish perished and so bringing another child [me] into the world after the end of WWII in 1954 was an act of almost joyful rebellion. Very clearly it was also explained that Israel existing was one of the main reasons my parents felt safe – even though living here as from birth U.S. citizens – in the  decision to have me. Trust me that as a Jewish Mother myself this is not extremist paranoia – oh no my friends, for when I decided to become a Mother again late in life with my second husband, Chester Michael Eliasz-Solomon, I even now thought these same ideas. My husband, just like my own maternal family is not Jewish [my Mother converted but my second husband has not] – still he legally took my Jewish last name, agreed to have our Jewish children do the same, keeps kosher and observes all Jewish holidays, rituals, etc.. My husband for many reasons but one main one being his biological Michigan family being hatefully and dangerously anti-Semitic legally disowned and disinherited them and others.  If you follow me or know me personally then you are aware of the REAL horror and depth of Antisemitism my husband’s disgraceful family and equally G-dless couple in Michigan he grew up with and their family is guilty of concerning Jews. Fortunately, as I have in my life – he too has  REALLY amazing and wonderful Christian cousins who are REAL family to us. To that point, please know that conversely my/our  life is full and so richly blessed with many who are considered “Righteous Gentiles” – these REAL people of faith – my many and a few of my husband’s relatives, friends and colleagues who are those that defend and support the rights of my Jewish people, the existence of Israel and I have no doubt would risk fortune and life to save us should that “knock on the door” ever come again [G-d forbid]!

There are no words to REALLY and completely define the depths of my personal pain concerning the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust – none I tell you. I carry each and every day that pain – the knowledge of that horror where regular citizens of nations who lived, worked, schooled, participated fully were then slaughtered for NO OTHER REASON than they were Jewish. Imagine you today ignoring on account of not wanting to believe it possible that an extremist group here in United States [or wherever you are reading this] existing similar to the Nazis and then that entity rising suddenly to power. Next step to imagine is laws being passed in order to take your long held rights away – yes REAL laws just like those that some in America want to establish in order to marginalize certain demographics today. After that you need to conjure up REAL fear that anytime now they will come for first your business, your law or medical license, have you dismissed at University where you taught for years, fire you from a years long worked at job, confiscated your bank accounts and properties and finally think of that minute when they come to your home and take you and your family away. THINK IT NOW – FEEL IT – BE REALLY AFRAID … it happened to us Jews just that way and I am still angry but no longer fearful because when we say NEVER AGAIN  we REALLY mean NEVER AGAIN – not for we Jews nor anyone else – the genocides must stop everywhere for everyone or humanity is doomed!!!

Note: In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! among so many REAL life stories, will be the full details and REAL facts – even quotes by those my husband decided to call and we legally trademarked The Miscreants™ concerning their hateful antisemitism, their threats and more. One incident that will surely sicken you is that these members of THE REAL Evil Doers Club™  wished my Jewish babies dead by not acknowledging they existed and by mocking our REAL pregnancies on social media sites, etc..  There is worse if you can imagine anything more egregious than mocking a REAL Jewish baby being born. One of these criminal cyberterrorists – a Michigan IBM employee among other threats wished me silenced by gas (leak). So much more will be made public in soon civil & criminal legal cases against these people & even lawsuit against IBM. For now you should know that along with the slander, defamation and harassment lawsuits soon to be filed and possible civil criminal charges, our attorneys and law enforcement are considering charges of hate crimes – yes my dear readers – a REALLY serious matter!!!
