Carve the Turkey and Spin the Dreidel

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

I have a little dreidel. I made it out of clay.
When it’s dry and ready, then dreidel I shall play.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made it out of clay.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, then dreidel I shall play.

Thanksgiving2013This long loved Jewish childhood song goes on … the REAL joy is in the sharing of fun and truth about our people’s long history of survival and perseverance. Even Hanukkah – without a doubt a less, shall we say, serious Jewish holiday than Passover and Yom Kippur is based on yet another miracle. We are a people whose very existence defines the term miracles – so many have sought our demise and yet we thrive and are present in every nation. No matter the reason – miracle, fortitude or luck – the glory in our story is one for all peoples and that is, with faith and determination, you shall be free. Sounds like the American story as well – and here we find Hanukkah 5774 and Thanksgiving 2013 on the same day. Of course, we get eight days but still this happenstance is worth consideration for is not freedom a universal desire and are not we Jews setting out over and over again for new lands that which the Pilgrims also did?

Surely the admittance of REAL facts concerning the Native Americans and the first Thanksgiving in America must be acknowledged here – are the grade school learned tales of friendship and closeness between Pilgrims and often termed Indians true or convenient fiction? The truth is ninety Native Americans and fifty-three Pilgrims sat down to the first three day harvest celebration in America – without question there was indeed a coming together in friendship but additionally there is no doubt that the entirety of our origins is replete with horrors against the Native people. Still there is no equivocation that when President Abraham Lincoln in 1863 declared this a Federal Holiday, the divine tone of the great American experiment was something to be celebrated.

So this year we Americans Jew are especially made grateful in remembering both our own miracle of Hanukkah and the miracle of a great nation like America … each a beacon to the world of REAL possibilities. For is not one example of perseverance, glory and victory example and template for all others who struggle against REAL tyranny? Each year many in the Jewish community choose a larger task [for those of our faith and all others] to address during Hanukkah – for me it is Light Up Literacy for Hanukkah. No matter which, the decision to use our miracles to create a better life for those Jewish and not defines the tonality of what a holiday of gratitude should be – both Thanksgiving and Hanukkah reasons to spread across the world a message of hopefulness and resolve that REALLY miraculous occurrences are the result of determination and G-d’s blessings!

P.S. In my year end (2013) memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and recently decided Summer 2014 Life Journey of Heiress Mommy! the details of how my life has been full of REAL miracles will be shared, as well as a little something about my dear clever late Mother’s “orphan Thanksgiving” and how my husband and I plan to continue this tradition once living in our new “main”  home [hint – more soon]. What is this holiday fete? Well it is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and all are invited – those who were at a place they had rather not be or no where invited or working, etc. on the traditional Turkey day. Ours will be a grand event – full of gaiety and joy to be shared by all the REALLY amazing family, friends, colleagues and neighbors that the Eliasz-Solomon family is blessed with … details and photos will be shared!!!

REAL Gratitude on Veterans Day

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Poem For a Today-A Soldier’s Cemetery, by John William Streets died at the Somme 1st July 1916

Behind that long and lonely trenched line
To which men come and go, where brave men die,
There is a yet unmarked and unknown shrine,
A broken plot, a soldier’s cemetery.

There lie the flower of youth, the men who scorn’d
To live (so died) when languished Liberty:
Across their graves flowerless and unadorned
Still scream the shells of each artillery.

When war shall cease this lonely unknown spot
Of many a pilgrimage will be the end,
And flowers will shine in this now barren plot
And fame upon it through the years descend:
But many a heart upon each simple cross
Will hang the grief, the memory of its loss.

VeteransDay1Who among us REALLY comprehends the moment when one dies in service to this nation – is there a thought of a grander ideal for which the life is being cut short or the more universal and probably longing for loved ones, as well as thoughts of G-d? Asking this question seems important to me as so much is made of the heroics, the bigger picture of nation and flag in remembering our war dead – and in acknowledging the service of veterans still living. But in the end these are REAL men and women – and as of late, I am daunted by the “lip service” to honor those gone and those returning. Budget cuts detailed, designed and passed into law by the most vocal “My country tis of thee …” members of Congress that affect our veterans and their families.

The pathos and ethos of remembrance entails a consideration of the reality that faced those willing to serve … As we did with the GI Bill following WWII, we need again to make education, housing and unlimited health care available to our returning arm service people. Arguing about the justification of sending Americans into battle is for another time but here, today, as we mark Veterans Day we must commit to a totality of obligation to these men, women and their families – this is the only true and REAL way to be of one heart with those who fought for this nation. Sentiments and expresses of gratitude remain an important gesture – as kind thoughts do help heal – however, no words of thanks can nor should replace REAL concrete care giving and services for veterans.

As a Jewish American – with family, including my Uncle Milton Solomon (Ancestry link) who was a Bronze Star recipient and was fortunate to return from WWII to live a long and productive life before being laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, having served – I more than most know all too well that my very life is based on those who fought against the Nazis. I never miss an opportunity to thank, shake the hand of and offer an embrace to a heroic WWII vet – being sure to tell them I and my family live only because they fought against those determined to eradicate my Jewish people from this earth. No hyperbole in believing this REAL fact. The personal for me is the general in that as a Jew, I – make that we as a people – know what fighting tyranny REALLY means. Likewise to feel personally indebted for my life and those of my Jewish children to the brave Americans, that included many Jews, who fought against the evil scourge of the Nazis is only a REAL and salient truth. I have the additional life blessing of having been married [my first/widowed May 2001] to my husband David, whose dear Father was a Colonel in the WWII Air Force. Knowing and loving Harold as I did – hearing his stories of valor and then visiting where he and family lived in England post war has brought to my life a even further REAL life awareness of what a veteran feels. My second and amazing husband, Chester Michael Eliasz-Solomon, a genealogist,  has integrated this history into his and my family history, visiting both my Uncle and father-in-law in Arlington National Cemetery. Both he and I fully believe that our much wanted Jewish children would not have been possible if not for men like these.

So on Veterans Day wave a flag, thank a veteran, buy a service person a meal and tell Congress to take care of these men and women – do this as if your and your children life depends on it because it REALLY does. May G-d bless our service people, our fallen heroes, our veterans and their families and May G-d bless America!!!

P.S. I want to thank my Belfast dear friend, who I love dearly, Valerie Corbett for sharing with me the above soldier’s poem. In my  memoir  Life Journey of Heiress Mommy! I hope to explain how and why my very diverse and truly spectacular family made sure the REAL values of patriotism were a part of our life!

The Apology Fallacy!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

apologiesSorry, Sorry, Sorry …” they say or maybe not but either way to what REAL extent do those words – in response to that which is now a fait accompli – REALLY matter? Often feigned, forced and certainly frequently insincere the idea of an apology is futile unless and until supported by REAL and concrete actions … in fact no REAL benefit occurs to perpetrator nor victim from a “falling on ones sword” admittance of wrongdoing in circumstances where no further representation of remorse is present. Unless – now you dear readers just knew I had an exception in mind – the evil doer has integrated as REAL fact that which he or she is guilty of and as such no longer remains convinced of their innocence. Projection, denial or nothing more than deliberated deceit nullifies the guilty parties ability to comprehend and rectify through productive effort that sin for which an apology is and should only be the beginning. Rendered worthless are the words used to express emotion supposed as awareness for the slight, egregious act or crime. What alternative exist one might ask to demonstrate error of behavior toward ones fellow besides apology? Possibly the biblical eternal question of right and wrong, deed and action or neglect shall never be REALLY answered – the trials and errors of we humans now regulated by laws and standards are the only viable current solution available but we need to examine the nuances save the proliferation of subterfuge the allows the dishonest to prevail.

The Apology is Plato’s version of the speech given by Socrates as he defended himself in 399 B.C. against the charges of corrupting the young, and not believing in the gods in whom the city believes. So in this ancient and historical text we find a defense motive – still often used by defendants as part of the plea phase as they hope for Judge and jury to believe their remorseful feelings for that crime they stand now convicted of. Socrates says that the old charges stemmed from years of gossip and prejudice against him and hence were difficult to address. Are not most of us – certainly those of you my frequent readers or personally acquainted know to be my personal case as The Miscreants™ have lied and projected onto my husband and myself erroneous wrong doings – forced to deal with from haters and usurpers chargers originating in prejudicial gossip? Indeed confusing and quite troubling is the baleful insistence that predators – including my own nemesis – profess that it is we the victims who should be creating an apologetic forum. Such a suggestion has been made in relation to the last ten years [and more before that for my dear husband] of the criminal vandalism, theft, deceit, threats, harassment, slander, defamation and stalking myself and my family have experienced at the hands of my husband’s ex-wife, her three children and their cohort Michigan miscreants and recently their hometown friends. Only one example is when my husband’s ex-wife’s children criminally vandalized his home in Summer 2003 [we met and married a few moths later]; the police present who I later became well acquainted with said in interviewing them no remorse was evident and needless to say no apology was ever forthcoming. Law enforcement, attorneys and mental health professionals advising us on upcoming litigation against these individuals and possible criminal charges, explain that this is surely indicative of sociopaths behavior. I have likened this to catching a child with hand in cookie jar and they then being angry at us the parent discovering their bad behavior … my husband and I refused to accept their fallacious behavior and instead decided to expose REAL truths of our sworn enemies – causing them to deny and invent faux alternative scenarios and justifications. Thinking I would find shameful that which I acknowledged [only the true parts] in my own life story – they became so frustrated as to actually commit REAL crimes and now allow us to seek financial rewards for damages. Do I or any of my advisers believe these miscreants and misanthropes will ever offer a sincere apology?  Well truth be told – only if whatever attorney they manage to hire for upcoming lawsuits and possible trials, insist they do as part of an agreement. Obviously this falls quite neatly into the category of an apologetic fallacy – agree?

We have all seen the politician caught in a scandalous love affair give his or her public apology of wrong doing and plea for forgiveness by spouse, family and constituents. Trust me as one who has a publicist for years, while possibly heartfelt, it is still at the recommendation of the professionals employed to guide image and make better the now scarred image of that public figure. So often those in place of power are forced into an apologetic posture that means little if anything about the true matter at hand … to initiate and sustain a difference in behavior, to rectify and make whole that which was destroyed is the REAL goal that must be present if sincere and righteousness of character is in mind. My Jewish faith is quite clear on there being no REAL external guidance more important than the intrinsic motivation that directs one by G-d to do well, make complete and live as if improved toward those wronged as the REAL and hopefully sustainable path. History is carpeted with tale and woe of those professing apology for deed and thought – to what end have these admittance of ill behavior and asking for forgiveness been documented? Is not the REAL glorified lesson learned examples from individuals who sought to correct their ways and in realization of that which caused damage or hurt, is not the end resulting blessed us with something much more valuable than the “I am sorry …” words?

P.S. In my upcoming memoir, Heiress Mommy… A Modern Super Woman Life! and follow-up, Life Journey of Heiress Mommy! every REAL detail of how owning, as I have, ones REAL life narrative frees you from the fallacy of apology, for a life REALLY well lived is without such need!!!

Seeing G-d’s Lawyers in New Year 5776!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

20130904-042527.jpgEven though my husband and I believe our personal lawyers have indeed been placed in our life by G-d, this New Year essay is not referencing that REAL gift. Instead is based on my being informed by one of my daily Talmud and Torah teachings – yes I study both each morning. So here I am beginning the Jewish  New Year 5776 (Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippuras convinced and confident as ever that my life decisions were as the L-rd intended.

We Jews do a sort of rebooting each new year – a type of spiritual housekeeping that demands review of our previous year’s deeds. Each of us required to complete the  analysis for that which we have done, make amends for REAL wrong doings, as well as estimate the effect of choices we have made. Never is any of this to be dictated by faux considerations and opinions of others. No my dear readers, the REAL truth is my and your only guidepost in patterning the life we choose.

Why G-d’s lawyers in this essay title you ask? Well now, the prosecution’s evidence is clear – the misanthropes are screaming falsehoods to derail your gloried path. The defense is a REAL and detailed narrative that you present by ownership of the entirety.  If, as for  myself and my dear husband, the choices made were undeniably perfect in tone considering that we deserved to rally against pure evil, prevail and thrive, then all will be blessed. On the other hand, the poseurs and emotionally deranged whose life is a pretense of acceptable place in this world will shatter into demise sooner or later. To thy own self be true is quite an applicable Jewish New Year exclamation. So here is to the entire world – Jew and Gentile alike – my wish for a REAL knowing of truth, no matter what faith or life philosophy brings you to your own chosen path. I wish you all the REAL reward of love and peace and L’Shanah Tovah from the entire Eliasz-Solomon Family™ to all humanity as we enter this New Year 5776 !!!

P.S. In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! and follow-up book Life Journey of Heiress Mommy many REAL examples of how and why my faith has sustained me will be shared – often helping guide me in defeating REAL evil. My hope and prayer is that my REAL life story will inspire many to prevail and thrive!

The Year of SCOTUS

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

DC_IMG_0825-IMG_0853_Supreme_Court_at_NightThere is a 1960’s song “I’m Your Puppet“- a romantic song of the ups and downs of a relationship. Last week I felt like that about The Supreme Court of the United States of America. They pulled my strings and played with my emotions. First tears and frustration as the Court announced the tearing down of the Voters Rights Act of 1965 – something near and dear to me as my late Father had worked for and been made triumphant in its passing. This law prohibited states that historically had been found to impose ” … to deny or abridge the right of [any] citizen of the United States to vote on account of race or color.”. What world are the five justices living in who found this no longer  problem is beyond me – in fact during the last two election cycles proof positive of this still being a problem was documented. People died for this right to vote as equal citizens and now I saw that being once again possibly denied – tears I shed and felt my own dedicated civil rights activist Father dishonored. So it was that I mourned this 2013 case Shelby County v. Holder decision.

Typical of many relationships, SCOTUS yanked my chain during the very same week by striking down DOMA and Prop 8 – issues my husband and I cared deeply about as we are supporters of REAL equal rights for all Americans, including the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) citizens. Justice Kennedy joined the Liberal wing of the Court in deciding that this was a matter of equal protection under our constitution. I told everyone that I was having a party in my heart knowing that under civil law no one could be denied the rights and benefits of marriage. Now do not get upset dear conservative friends – no one is going to force your place of worship to perform same sex marriage ceremonies – no, no, no, but the civil ceremonies are to be made available to any two legally appropriate age Americans. Lets not forget that in Nazi Germany my husband who is Catholic and myself, a Jew could not wed and in this nation neither could individuals of different races until quite recently in many States.

I have been asked why do I care so deeply about either of these issues – after all, I am neither African American or gay. Simple really – all injustice frightens me. Surely the history of my people – the Jews – have taught that the serendipitous and spontaneous decisions by a majority to marginalize a group for factious reasons can become and are dangerous to the society as a whole. No peace would I find if having an insouciance toward my fellow citizens’ plight – fond of saying me/they today and you/yours tomorrow. In my memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life!  and follow up life journey book I pray and am hopeful many will come away with a REAL sense of why justice for all is justice for each of us!

P.S. I dedicate this post to my friend David Shaw and his husband – as he feels about that marriage, I feel about my own. That is for both David and I the emotion that our mates are those people that both of us can not imagine having lived other than married to … we share the feeling of  “Oh my  – what if I had not met you my dear husband?” Now that is REAL love!!!

My Daddy’s Romance with Environmentalist Rachel Carson

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

rachel-carson-silent-springMy dear erudite, brilliant, activist Father was crazy about environmentalist Rachel Carson – a REAL crush in my opinion is what Daddy had for this forerunner in the filed of conservation. Therefore it was not odd that at twelve years old one of the books he insisted I read and then, as was par for our family structure, we discuss was her iconic book, “Silent Spring“. Well dear readers, Rachel Carson had no idea how REALLY dangerous the manipulation for evil and lack of concentration of biodiversity would become with the current ever growing advancement in technology. Now if you are a Luddite reading this, just take a deep breath and proceed with an open mind for REAL and honest dialogue must – absolutely must – be continued on issues of the lessening of species, crops and biological diversity on this planet; likewise there must be applied efforts to maintain and yes, control both man-made and natural destruction of our varied ecosystem if we are to survive. Not hyperbole but REAL and serious documented factual reality – there is a terrible problem that we humans need to address immediately and no slanted nor political viewpoint should be allowed to dictate the direction we take.

Something called the “conservation of variety” was a prevalent and definitive focus during the Cold War between U.S.A. and the Soviet Union.  In his New York Times op-ed, Ecology Lessons From the Cold War, Jacob Darwin Hamblin discussed that it was nothing short of than a strategy for human survival that made necessary scientific investigations and planning should the worse case scenario occur – the frighteningly titled “Mutually Assured Destruction.  The Cold War [mostly] over but oh my, the REAL war to save the world’s ecological diverse stability is ever growing and I assure you, none of us – no one – will win unless all of us get involved now. Saving whales or pandas, a rare fish – yes that too but crops, water systems and every damn contingency or sub system as well has to be protected and even morphed into a stronger lineage if so determined in order to be able to withstand environmental changes. What choice is there? Does any one REALLY believe G-d wants us to just go along, to get along? Well, tell me please because that is an insane attitude and my Jewish faith demands care taking of this gloried nature that the L-rd granted us purview over. If your own faith suggests destruction for an entry into nirvana – I want you to be REALLY quiet because otherwise someone will  – no make that someone must – get you mental health treatment asap or incarcerate you to be sure you do no harm to the rest of us. Yes, I know what you must be thinking – something like, “OMG Tereza, that is so extreme!”. You betcha because the ignorant among us are causing delay and defunding for REALLY necessary scientific research and development to save us now and future generations. I say if anyone disagrees and wants the so called “end of days” sped up – go for it – I mean take your single life out of the equation asap and leave the rest of us to do REALLY what G-d wanted and that is save his beloved creation. This is an ethical and moral imperative and not a philosophical ideal my friends and you will be deemed guilty of complicity if any less than supporting environmental preservation is your life choice!

P.S. In my book, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! there will be details on my late Father’s early environmental activism and the irony that sadly a environmental poison [asbestos despite being only a so called white collar guy] ended his still vital [in his mid 70’s life], as well as , how those he loved and loved him are determined to legally and in other ways continue his fights for REAL justice and care for all living things!

The Gay Economist

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

jmk-keynesLong a personal fan [like my erudite Liberal parents before me] of Keynesian economic theory, I was daunted by the recent Niall Ferguson controversy where he suggested Keynes theories invalid on account of that famed economist having been gay and childless. The suggestion was the Keynes could not have been forward thinking about the future of day to day economics as he had no progeny to care about. Well now – REALLY one must ask? Let me begin by firmly stating that Keynes actually cared a great deal about the long run consequences of financial policies – just not at the risk of destroying current day stability for the nation involved or the world. With that REAL fact out of the way – we must give consideration to the prejudicial tonality of Harvard Professor Ferguson’s assertions. Surely as we are all informed and directed by personal narratives, so was John Maynard Keynes but this does not in any way denote the rhyme nor reason for his scholarship on the subject of economics. Let us examine the implications of lifestyle choices on topics of great importance and while doing so inform ourselves on those determined to minimize that which they find offensive or incorrect through misconceived ideas.

Dismissive attitudes make examining REAL and pertinent ideas almost impossible … you have heard the excuse of he or she thinks that because he or she is such and such. Silly when one considers that each of us come to conclusive positions through learning and experience. Yes it is imperative to set aside as best possible our own life biography when postulating that which affects others through our professional work; even then,  without a doubt who we are in private life will influence that which we pursue in work. My own take on economic theories mirror Keynes – I too think the private sector while valuable and primary must be assisted in down turns by public or government programs and funds. Wow – me a confirmed heterosexual and the mostly [yes mostly in that he married a woman he loved a great deal] Keynes share philosophies – me and many rather famous heterosexuals, like Dr. Paul Krugman, etc.. Now in all fairness to Professor Ferguson, it is a truism that one can be guilty of self prejudices and thus put forth those theories that lay way for self aggrandizing. This quandary needs to be a matter of investigatory observation in an attempt to have only the purist of adversary rhetoric added to discussions of weighty significance.

The important economist Milton Friedman thought Keynes “naive” but is that because like myself he was Jewish and Keynes not? Remember that I have already stated that I and my Jewish parents were very much of the Keynes school of thought. Well maybe – just maybe our shared faith influenced that which each of us and all Jewish people see as important but then why do other Jews think opposite? Hmm … complex and yet simple – we are definitely the products of our environments however never to be set aside as irrelevant due to this or that ancestral history or genetic predisposition – like being homosexual. The world community is diverse and magnificent in its mosaic fabric – too important are the issues of finance, health and welfare to deny opportunity to all and many able to contribute. So gay, straight or other – come one and all to the table – we need each person to be seated and REALLY involved!!!

P.S. In my year end memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! much will be explained as to the how and why  life has afforded me concern and input concerning things like economics, sociology and such – a REALLY interesting life story if I say so myself!

The Grateful Wedding Guest

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)
TheWedding

Curly, full, straight or up?”  I asked my darling long time friend and brilliant hairdresser, Marina. Dressed and ready to attend the wedding of goddess gal pal Connie R. and her wonderful fiance Mike G., I left to get to the church on time. Yes,  me, a  Jewish lady spends a great deal of time seeing friends and colleagues wed in Churches – the gift of having been blessed with diverse groups in my life. So it was that I was, along with other invited wedding guests, witness to the joining of a man and a woman who waited many years to find a REAL soul mate. Grateful to be included at this lovely and intimate event, I prayed, I danced, I ate and I rejoiced to see my friend in the place of oneness with her chosen partner – which is how I, myself with my own husband, get to live happily with each day. The history of marriage throughout humanity is long and complex – still all the intonations of this union are based on betterment not only for the couple but equally for the society in which they dwell. When, why, how marriage became the foundation union of our species says much about its value – I want to share a few reasons that my heart and mind know marriage is not to be denied anyone who seeks it.

The wedding is a primeval and continuously observed human ritual … the unification of a man and woman in a joined acknowledgement of a higher being dates back to first written history. Morphing, changing and often accommodating to mores of society has produced many attenuated and varied wedding ceremonies around the globe. At the start and through the Middle Ages all that was needed is for the man and woman to state before community and family their intent to be married – no real contractual documentation required. In my own faith of Judaism, many marriage rituals are recorded as having begun and been well established in Biblical times – those also changing and developing into new forms in the Middle Ages and more so in the 19th century. Jewish marriage – like much in my faith – has REAL and specific rules and protection clauses – one might saw legal dictates, as instruction for this ritual. Christian weddings are mentioned in gospel recounting of their Messiah’s time among the people. Other cultures, nations and communities throughout written history describe practices and processes for the permanent relationship of two people in marital bonds. The celebratory aspect no doubt grew and changed in accordance with customs and desires of those involved. Grandeur, pomp and circumstance once only the purview of wealthy and well placed, came to be common place and even expected among all peoples entering into matrimony. In my opinion no one should be denied the legal right to marry and carry on the traditional sacredness that such a possibility allows – we make better the entirety of our world when two consenting adults make it REAL and known that they are united in effort to make a life worthy of recognition.

As I wrote in previous blog posts, my friends who married yesterday have gone through ordeals; likewise, these two generous individuals stood by myself and my husband through our own burdens, as we did them. To be invited – so honored to be in attendance as these kind and loving people, Mike and Connie became husband and wife, was a REAL privilege. Made more special in that they limited those present to bear witness at this ceremony … as those throughout history have done, I as a grateful wedding guest expressed praise to G-d and joyfulness watching the ultimate commitment of married life begin for Mr. & Mrs. G.!!!

P.S. In my year end memoir, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! there will be much to share about my own wonderful REALLY amazing marriage, as well as, how my brilliant genealogist husband, Chester Michael Eliasz-Solomon, makes use of marriage records in many languages for his work – quite interesting, I assure you!

Time for a REAL Change of Climate!!!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)

Earth day 2013 blogWe have always had severe weather – just read the Bible.“,  “I remember one Winter 30 years ago when we rarely wore coats on the East Coast“, “How do explain all the snow this past year? ” … yes indeed each of these and more are the far too often heard responses when discussing global warming issues. Now these ideas are not always from the extremist climate change deniers – no, actually many are surprisingly from rather moderate and truth be told, confused individuals. REALLY troubling is that most are hearing lie filled and very unscientifically sound rhetoric from the naysayers – those hell bent for a variety of mostly nefarious reasons to deter action toward solving the planet’s environmental crisis. Add in the ridiculous anti-climate change partisan political diatribes and oh my, the end result is that nothing nearing a unified global effort to deal with Earth’s resource destruction is happening. Why the hell REAL science has gotten political is far beyond my ability to comprehend – not saying I don’t understand the base motivations of finances, power and such but I am at a loss to digest fully the whys of any one wanting to leave unattended environmental problems that affect each and every one of us. Climate change denial moves from much necessary skepticism regarding such matters to the usurping tonality that belies the almost frightening misrepresentation of REAL facts.

Money talks and there is loads of it behind the so called contrarian scientist – these are the professionals being funded by groups wanting to protect profits they feel will be lessened by government imposed regulations on items like pollution. We need to create energy industry jobs from the how to conserve and create new sources of energy programs; we also can provide many employment opportunities for those working on and constructing REAL methods of climate control. I am in no way an extremist do-gooder type – not in any way do I insist all industry seize to exist in order to protect the environment. Instead I REALLY believe profit and protection for all can occur through a  sensible business and societal plan. Regulation is not the demon plan – no, no, no – it is through a regulatory system that we achieve controls and reasonable government oversight to instruct industry on the methods best proven to protect consumers and the environment.

Much more frightening –  at times belly laughter inspiring – are the wing nuts who seem to think climate change concerns and especially the United Nations initiatives on the subject are anti-Christ. These “end of days” zealots profess and I think REALLY believe that controlling the destruction of our Earth will deny their quested “second coming of Christ”. Well now, my Jewish faith teaches the polar opposite – we are dictated to be REAL stewards of the environment, as G-d created and gifted it to us and wants its safe keeping. No matter your chosen faith or lack there of – I am not willing to destroy this planet so another person’s religious desires might be achieved and besides the lineage from Earth destroyed to heavenly nirvana makes zero sense [just saying]. REAL science must rule the day on the subject of climate change and global warming … neither left/Liberal nor Right/Conservative should ever be allowed to impose their self motivated ideals on this REALLY imperative matter. The health and welfare of every living thing – human, animal and plant – depends on a concerted and intelligent effort to correct and control the destruction of our environment.

On a REALLY personal note – my late Father, Abraham H. Solomon,  was an early environmental activist; so much so that I included reference to his nearly life long efforts in dealing with this issue in my eulogy for him. I myself was at the first Earth Day celebration in 1970 – in Philadelphia. The children in my family always being the benefactors of my annual April tutorial and books/items to help make Earth Day fun. In my year end (2013) book, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life! I will share much of how my life was altered by such matters of REAL science. For now, lets PLEASE work together – wise up and do our best to make Earth safe for all living things – learn about and enjoy this great gift from G-d on this Earth Day, 22 April 2013 !!!

Happy Birthday to My REAL Superman !!!

by Teréza Eliasz-Solomon (HeiressMommy™)
HappyBirthdayHubbyAs Beyonce sings and I believe Mrs. Carter feels – I do as well
for my April Birthday Superman, to my husband, I say:

“You Are My Rock”

Oh oh oh I, oh oh oh I
[Verse 1:]
If I wrote a book about where we stand Then the title of my book would be “Life with Superman” That’s how you make me feel I count you as a privilege This love is so ideal I’m honored to be in it I know you feel the same I see it everyday In all the things you do In all the things you say

[Chorus:]

You are my rock Baby you’re the truth You are my rock I love to rock with you You are my rock You’re everything I need You are my rock So baby rock with me I wanna kiss ya, feel ya, please ya just right I wanna touch ya, love ya, baby all night Reward ya, for all the things you do You are my rock I love to rock with you I love to rock with you Oh oh oh I

[Verse 2:]

If I were to try to count the ways You make me smile I’d run out of fingers Before I run out of timeless things to talk about Sugar you keeps it going on Make me wanna keep my lovin strong Make me wanna try my best To give you what you want and what you need Give you my whole heart, not just a little piece More than a minimum, I’m talking everything More than a single wish, I’m talking every dream

[Bridge:]

If there’s options I don’t want them They’re not worth my time Cause if it’s not you, oh no thank you I like us just fine You’re a rock in the sand You’re a smile in a cry You’re my joy through the pain You’re the truth through the lies No matter what I do I know that I can count on you

Oh oh oh I, oh oh oh I

[Chorus:]

You are my rock Baby you’re the truth You are my rock I love to rock with you You are my rock You’re everything I need You are my rock So baby rock with me I wanna kiss ya, feel ya, please ya just right I wanna touch ya, love ya, baby all night Reward ya, for all the things you do You are my rock I love to rock with you I love to rock with you

Oh oh oh I, oh oh oh I

I wanna kiss ya, feel ya, please ya just right I wanna touch ya, love ya, baby all night Reward ya, for all the things you do You are my rock I love to rock with you I wanna rock with you

Five years my junior – good looking, REALLY smart, sexy, sweet and kind and much more – all apt descriptions of my husband, Chester Michael Eliasz-Solomon.  On 20 April 2013 my man turns 54 years young – happily he and I anticipating his now most important later in life role as proud father to our / his only children.  For him – for us both – new chapters of our shared and REALLY blessed life have just begun … no REAL plans for retirement but instead new ventures, growing family, grand excursions and most importantly, REAL love. We have been on the most amazing shared life journey for nearly ten years and now we begin an even more spectacular joined effort – as we two set off to enjoy tasks and endeavors not even thought possible when we married 29 November 2003, after having only known each other three months.

My husband is many wonderful things – he has a Masters Degree in Computer Science, was a well known Data Architect, a business owner, is a widely respected genealogist who translates many languages, a devoted husband, father and friend – he is also one of my editors and Web designers – helping my blog be perfected and working with me to be sure my publisher produces my book, Heiress Mommy … A Modern Super Woman Life ! in the appropriate manner. My husband is a REAL feminist – proof is his having legally taken my last name/have our children do the same and being my equal co-partner in all our newly formed professional ventures. My sweetheart is an amazing caretaker – home and hearth made better by his overseeing – even though glad to soon not be needing to, he can cook, bake, tidy up and look after quite well children and pets – even alone completely stunningly capable.

Somewhat sad is that except for a few dear cousins, my husband’s biological family are anything but impressive. If you follow me regularly and for certain if you know us personally, then you are aware of just how evil and useless my dear man’s relatives mostly are. In fact, he decided to legally disown and disinherited all of them in order to create REAL distance and much needed security for us. I joke that if not for the few decent and well educated distant cousins from his side that I have grown to love and admire, I would believe my husband was adopted – he being so much better than and uniquely different than his immediate biological family members. Happily, I have given him the family he always dreamed of, desired and deserved on account of his REAL goodness. The level of decency and unbounded generosity I have seen my husband demonstrate over our years together has astonished me – always eager to help and share with those in our REAL family and what we consider “extended family” – they are our dear, REALLY loyal and always devoted to us, friends and colleagues. Why even those in our employ are something we agree as being needed to be paid and benefited generously; my husband  like my own beloved late Father, always anxious to include those who service us well in that group we show kindness toward.

Unfortunately, as with many of my husband’s fine character, some thought his patient largess meant weakness  Oh my, were they surprised when my husband insisted on and pursued lawsuits and law enforcement investigations against those nemesis I often reference in my blog posts. Odd is the fact that these loathsome creatures seem a bit confused – thinking it me singularly determined to defeat their evil deeds. Of course, as I am a Jew and my husband Catholic – these antisemitic losers expressed that as explanation. Almost a compliment that they seem to also think me a female  Svengali  –  quite hilarious actually if you know my strong willed husband. Still I admit he and I have a REAL unified partnership – biblical in that we “forsake all others” for our marriage – our union as husband and wife a most serious foremost presence in our lives status. No man nor woman can ever put us asunder. Husband and I have each been the others savior and hero  …  taking turns as needed to rescue and defend against all enemies the other. G-d must have found REAL favor in bringing us together and we are both filled with daily REAL gratitude for that happenstance.

My apology for again having to remain limited in sharing all the REAL and full and very interesting facts of our meeting and life together. The soon to be filled lawsuits, ongoing law enforcement investigations against/of our nemesis – plus my book contractual obligations prevent my anxious to tell psyche from detailing further just now. You must trust me that ours is an amazing and glorious story – filled with definite OMG moments. Most close friends and advisers belly laugh, guffaw and sit in rapt attention as they learn of our REAL life narrative and assist us in establishing our abundantly blessed future. Suffice it to say – our REAL love story will make a great book and, if rumor is true, a worth seeing film. For now, may I not so humbly suggest that you avail yourself of my life partner’s blog –  http://mikeeliasz.wordpress.com. You can thank me later!!!

P.S. Happy & Blessed Birthday dear husband … I give thanks to G-d for your presence on Earth, here with me and remain eternally grateful that you choose me to be your wife. Wishing you many, many more years of life – then eternal bliss in shared union with me!!!
